Lugano

Lake Lugano and the city of Lugano in Switzerland are only 20 minutes driving from Villa Passalacqua.  The lake, like Lake Como, is surrounded by mountains and the area of Lugano beside the lake is perfect for strolling among the shops.  A few yards away from the lake in the center of Lugano is the spacious Piazzadella Riforma, a huge cafe lined square, where everyone walks by eventually.  Cheese, pastries, wines and chocolates are the most abundant foods to search out.  A variety of large and small boats are available for hire in front of the Neoclassical Palazzo Civico.
