HISTORY

The 3,000 year old history of Lake Como and the region is both plagued and enriched by the ravages of war that has left a heritage of castles, fortresses and towers in ancient cities and villages. All along Lake Como are medieval and renaissance villages where nobles entertained their guests in lavish villas that still exist today.
