Sycamore tree in the winter

Thanks to our most recent guest from Los Angeles for this beautiful photo.  In the winter, Italians trim this kind of tree all the way down to its main limbs.  In the summer, they are wild and beautiful.  The clearest blue skies that we have on Lake Como come in the winter.
