The Val Gardena in the Dolomites

Our favorite place to ski in the world is in the Dolomites--in particular the Val Gardena.  Ortisei is a special town.  The mountains jut up like massive lower buck teeth.  You ski from one village to another.  Tradition has it that no more than three ski runs can be accomplished without a grappa from Trentino in between.
